note #154

When I first met her she was standing at a bus stop in the Seattle rain with her only her hood up. She didn't seem to notice the steady drops slowly turning her coat a darker shade.

hen she looked up and I saw her eyes, I thought they were black - deep abysses into which one would fall with no hope of ever coming up. Then a shaft of sunlight pierced the clouds and her eyes lit with golden brilliance. The abysses lit into twin universes full of darkness etched in golden galaxies, flashing reds and deep browns promising a glimpse of unknown mysteries to explore before being shielded by squinting eyelids.

She looked down again as the light faded. I felt a part of myself tug and sever, lost in that brief moment of contact to forever float upon unknown shores. Deep down I longed to follow it.

I was aroused from my mesmerized state by the arrival of a bus. She glanced up from her phone and then quickly alighted as the doors opened. All I could do was stare after her. The bus pulled away and I hoped with all my heart our paths should cross again.

note #153

the darkness in me
matches the darkness in you
and it entwines
as we fall from light
into the endless sea of night.

note #149

talking to a friend about things seen on campus while in university:
i think the BEST thing i ever saw on campus was a gigantic snowball fight in the quad.
the police drove up and got pelted.
it was all braveheart final battle rush epic.

note #148

feed me your heart
and i'll give you my soul.
