note #53

office christmas parties twinkle in small pockets of glittering joy throughout the city, winking and going out like lights on a christmas tree. high above the crowded streets, above the bustling shoppers and wandering street musicians, where the tinkling of the charity bells can't reach flying jets on missions of transporting passengers to their destinations. between the earth and stars on a last minute rush they ferry small parcels of joy to their final destinations.

morning fog gives way as, between the first snowflake's fall, carousel animals rush and laughing kids play. strangers exchange holiday pleasantries as above their cheerful murmur bagpipes rattle and wheeze out a raucous chorus and taxis sway down the street. bright shop windows lure with their glittering displays of holiday wares. street vendors cry out to passers-by as, with jingling of bells, tossing of heads and a steady "clip-clop-clip", horses wend their way with carriages in tow.

horns honk and tempers flare, but despite, traffic flows slowly along the avenues. the street corner scrooge clashes with the charity bells and the well wishing man who didn't plan on an ill reception. department store santas congregate lines of parents, children in tow for pictures and sticky, peppermint kissed whispered wishes from tiny minds. sleepy headed toddlers doze in lines rung round the block since 8am, each cheek a little rose.
